Well I can not believe today has finally arrived, not only am I thrilled to be in South Florida where yesterday I got to watch the Cowboys beat the Fish (sorry Miami fans) but I also got to go to the beach, have dinner with my good friends Pete Koltis and Chuch Schaeffer of Aplicor (who by the way is a terrific SaaS company for mid market front office to back office solutions) and one of my very best friends in the whole world Paul Greenberg. Wow did I mention the reason we are here in the first place? Let’s get to that. We are at the Gartner Summit here in Hollywood Fla. were a project I’m involved in is taking its first big step. Today is opening day for mycrmcareer.com. This is the first social network focused on the needs of CRM professionals. That’s right, people in Sales, Marketing, Service, IT and General management now have a resources and a platform to serve our needs for competency development and career progression. Today’s launch is hopefully the beginning of something that can be embraced and developed over time to serve the needs of the CRM practitioners and the companies they work for and with. You see this was not done just for the commercial value (although we intend to make money so we can keep the doors open and the lights on) but as a labor of love between collaborators of which their are many who thought it was about time the CRM industry stopped talking about Social Media and CRM 2.0 and did something about it. This is just the beginning and who knows what will become of our experiment, but I do know we intend to listen and learn and open for participation to all who would like to be involved. . My hope is that the community will embrace this opportunity to raise the bar for CRM professional around the world. Well I’m off to breakfast and networking at day 1 of the Gartner CRM Summit and later today at the break I’ll be sending out invitation to join mycrmcareer.com. I hope to see you as a member and look forward to working with you to shape our future together.
